On a whim, in the summer of 2023, I joined some new dahlia friends on an adventure. It was the first time we had ever been to a dahlia show, and I was blown away! So many varieties, so many colors, so many FLOWERS! I took pictures of just a handful that day that took my breath away, and AC Twisp was one of those. Twisty pink and yellow petals are outlined in the most perfect pink hue. Growing in full sun, she performed magnificently, producing large, full, luscious blooms on repeat. She just might be one that maintains a permanent place in my garden. When hybridizer Ken Greenway was asked about the name, his reply was two-fold: Twisp is one of his favorite places in eastern Washington, and is full of fond memories. In addition, friend Dick Williams, hybridizer of Skipley Dahlias, was born in Twisp, and spent his first 10 years there before crossing the mountains on a move to western Washington
